In tonight’s FBI International episode, an American was killed in Amsterdam. The victim was Ryan Karloski. He arrived in the city with a couple of buddies. They all worked in maritime private security and Ryan’s friends used their time in the city to behave badly. They were real jerks. Ryan was the nicest out of all of them.

Which was why his friends knew something was up when he failed to meet them the next morning after a night out. Ryan was former military. He retired young. He left the military for financial reasons and his buddies were worried they might be the reason he was killed. And that’s why they called the FBI.

The buddies broke a cardinal rule. They tried to take photos of the prostitutes in the red light district. The pimp told them that this wasn’t a sex museum and they had to pay the girls.

Ryan agreed to go with one of the prostitutes. He paid her for sex. After the encounter, someone tried blackmailing him. Ryan went back to the district and he confronted the prostitute he slept with. She denied any connection to the blackmailing. Ryan left alive. He was shortly killed afterwards in his hotel room. Ryan’s buddies think the pimp was involved.

They didn’t like how the pimp called them out for being annoying Americans. One of the guys took it a step further. Shane Sutton told the FBI about the pimp and, when he didn’t see the man get arrested, he then tried to beat answers out of the pimp. It was all a waste of time. The pimp wasn’t involved in what happened to Ryan.

Nor the prostitute. They checked Famke Hensen’s phone. She didn’t send the text threatening to blackmail Ryan. She was spoofed. There was a person who used a spoofing app to send messages to Ryan and have it look like it came from Famke’s phone.

Also, the way Ryan died indicated he was killed by someone he trusts. Ryan was suffocated. He was just blackmailed and he didn’t go for his gun when strangers were knocking on the door?

It doesn’t make sense. Not unless his killer wasn’t a stranger. The FBI looked into Shane. Shane was kicked out of the military for bad conduct. He was charged in a domestic dispute. He was also charged for setting off his gun during a bar brawl. He was bad news. He was questioned and he swears he didn’t kill Ryan. He loved Ryan like a brother he said.

Shane also said he’d get justice for Ryan if no one else will. He’s the one that hooked Ryan up with a job at Devos Maritime. Only Devos Maritime was shipping something else other than goods.

Ryan contacted his uncle who was also a lawyer back in the States. Ryan asked him for advice because he found out that they were shipping human beings. They were human traffickers. Ryan wanted to report it and he asked his uncle for advice on how. The uncle told the feds all about it when they skyped him from Amsterdam.

Neither of Shane’s friends can return to the ship or they risk escaping to other countries. Other non-extraditable countries. The FBI knew that Ryan was killed by someone he knows and there were only two people that knew where he was that night. They were all staying in rooms next to each other.

They weren’t adjoining. He was either killed by Shane or by the third member, Bernard Almaz. The last one quickly shifted the blame to Shane. He told the feds during questioning that he overheard Shane and Ryan arguing at two in the morning.

Shane denied any such conversation took place. He also asked for a lawyer. He demanded a lawyer from the United States because he claimed he didn’t want to get a crappy Dutch lawyer. The FBI searched the ship they came on. They found where the trafficked people were held. They also found a survivor.

His name was Moussa Camara. He traveled with his brother from Mali and his brother died in that unventilated hot box where they were kept. They paid the captain good money to bring them to Europe. Four out of the twenty in that room died. And there was no refund.

Moussa also identified the man that interacted with them. It wasn’t Shane. It was Bernard. Bernard was the one that killed Ryan and he did that by secretly getting Ryan to be interested in Famke. The ship’s captain was a known client of hers. He had her number. Bernard then kicks things off with the pimp to force Ryan to sleep with Famke.

They planned to blame the whole thing on Famke and her pimp until Shane couldn’t leave things alone. He wasn’t involved in the human trafficking. He just wanted justice for Ryan.

That’s when they came up with a new plan to frame Shane. The FBI unraveled everything. They arrested Bernard. They just had to arrest Captain Veerman and he didn’t go down easy.

There was a shootout. The captain tried to take his own life when he was cornered, but Vo got the gun out of his hand. He along with Bernard will face a lifetime in prison. And Moussa was given a legal visa to stay in Amsterdam.

He doesn’t have to work under the table while he sends money back home to his family. Sadly, Amanda Tate couldn’t be there for this mission. She was fighting a custody battle with her ex-fiancé. He was even willing to stop sponsoring her knowing she could be deported without their daughter.

The only choice that Amanda had left to stay with her daughter was to resign. It’s what her ex wanted. Raines put a stop to that by getting Amanda legal standing in the EU. All FBI get EU status while working overseas and now her ex couldn’t use her non-citizenship against her. And so he agreed to officially do 50/50 custody.

THE END!
